She tells us ‘I grew up in a very musical home. My father was a well trained musician surrounding me with trumpet, guitar, song writing and singing since very young. Alongside him, my mothers passion for theatre and music gave me a zest for creativity.
I studied Drama and Music Tech at college. I gained my Vocal Diploma Distinction in the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford. During my training I learned technique, theory and skill as well as building confidence and finding my own unique style and sound.
I have used my vocal skill set in a variety of settings over the years. Singing in various groups in Restaurants and pubs, conversely singing within my many complex care and activity coordinator roles with elderly residents and children with complex needs. Day to day I sing endlessly with my own children to fill their early years with the same melodic beauty that was in mine.
I believe music to be healing and uplifting for the soul in so many ways. A wonderful way to express and move through varied emotions such as joy and happiness as well as therapeutically through pain or grief.
I have a real passion for helping others to find and improve their sound, whether that be by breaking down and working on a specific song, training their musical ear to better hear harmony or note progressions or by building their confidence.
I play piano on my beautiful Cherrywood Samick and use this for training your musical ear on chords, harmony and note progression. For working on songs I use backing tracks’.
She teaches online or can travel to you anywhere in Surbiton, New Malden, Twickenham, Brixton, Wimbledon, Esher, Weybridge, Ashford, Feltham, Richmond, Chessington, Sutton, Epsom or all across Surrey.
