UK Music needs your help

Wednesday, May 31st, 2017

The organisation is calling on UK musicians, songwriters, composers, producers, engineers and managers to take part, so UK Music can produce Measuring Music – an annual report assessing the health of the music sector in the UK. “Measuring Music allows us to map the music economy, to analyse trends and to document the day-to-day conditions for hard working performers, writers, composers, producers, engineers and managers,” explained UK Music.

“Our most recent Measuring Music report revealed that 119,020 jobs were supported by music in 2015, generating in excess of £4.1billion for the UK economy. Music is the engine room of the creative economy and this report gives us the hard statistics we need to negotiate the best policies for your future.

“It helps us fight against the threats to grassroots music, like the closure of some of the country’s best and most-loved small venues. It helps us lobby the Treasury for tax incentives (like those the film and video games industry benefit from) to help creators. It helps us fight to protect the value of your copyrights and your IP. But most of all it helps us recognise and acknowledge the value of your work!”

Those taking part in the survey will also be in with a chance of winning the following prizes:

Elektron Digitakt drum machine
Sontronics Aria microphone
Sennheiser HD 800 headphones
Tickets to Leeds Festival
Tickets to V Festival at Chelmsford or Staffordshire
