Musical Intervals are a True Test Of Our Singing Ability
One of the basic musical skills that a singer must have, is the ability to sing musical intervals. So what are musical intervals? Well these intervals are actually derived from the musical scales that most singers, if not all, know about. For example, the major scale, minor scale, pentatonic scale and so on. A musical interval is basically a set of 2 notes that are a certain distance apart, hence the word ‘ interval ‘.
The true test of our pitching ability is to be able to sing these 2 notes in that specific interval, even when the key of the song is being changed! This tests our relative pitch ability, and also refines our ability to sing the musical interval in all keys as well. Give it a try with a basic major scale.
