Bennington joined Stone Temple Pilots in following the band’s split with original frontman Scott Weiland. In a statement, he revealed that he was leaving so he could “focus solely on Linkin Park”:
“The last few years have been an amazing experience. I got to create and perform with one of the greatest rock bands of our generation, that had so much influence on me growing up. With the amount of time STP deserves, in addition to being in Linkin Park, and with the needs of my family, one of them always seems to fall short.”
Stone Temple Pilots have revealed that they have tried out a number of singers since Bennington told them he was leaving. At this time, his replacement is unknown.
What did you think of Joss Stone fronting STP? Fun for a one-off? Would you want to see her singing for the band full-time?
