Sam Smiths Voice Gives Out Again.
Last week we reported that Singer Sam Smith has had to cancel some shows in Australia. Well now he has cancelled even more shows due to a hemorrhage on his vocal cords. The singer has cancelled a series of shows in Japan and Manila and is heading to the US to see a specialist. Sam is apparently “vocally exhausted” and has had to cancel the shows to avoid more serious damage.
Writing on Instagram, alongside a picture of him sitting by the sea looking a bit sad, Sam said: “Very upset about Japan and Manila dates. I’ve just left Australia and I’m on my way to the States to see a specialist to see what to do from there… This is f***ing horrid.”
Last week, Sam announced the cancellation of his Australia tour, saying: “I am deeply, deeply saddened to tell my Australian fans, I have to cancel my Australian tour. I have been vocally exhausted for a while now, however last night in Sydney I had a small haemorrhage on my vocal cords. The doctors have told me I need to fully rest until my vocal cords have healed, otherwise this could become a huge, long-term issue”. He said that having to cancel the dates “kills me”.
Sam’s In The Lonely Hour tour is due to come to Europe, starting with Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Norwich, from 23 May. Those dates are still currently going ahead.
