Singer Forgets Words Whilst Performing At Grammys 2015.
AC/DC singer Brian Johnson was photographed using a teleprompter during Grammys opening number on Sunday night. The hard rocker apparently needs help with his own band’s lyrics for new hit, ‘Rock or Bust,’ as they rock the house at the 57th annual Grammy Awards. Brian Johnson and Angus Young of AC/DC perform a medley of songs to open the show at the 57th annual Grammy Awards Sunday night.
The hard rock icons — without their founding guitarist for health reasons and their longtime drummer because of legal problems — opened Sunday night’s 57th annual Grammys with a blistering two-song set. But lead singer Brian Johnson apparently needed a little help to remember the lyrics to the title song off the band’s new album, “Rock or Bust,” a photo tweeted by the Hollywood Reporter’s Matthew Belloni clearly shows.
That AC/DC performed at all is a major victory for the Australian musicians. Drummer Phil Rudd has been drummed out of the band as he battles legal charges in New Zealand stemming from an alleged death threat. And founding guitarist Malcolm Young retired from the band last year as he battles dementia and other health problems.
Teleprompters aside, the most jarring visual during the opening Grammy number may have been the sight of singer Katy Perry making devil horns with her hands and singing along to the band’s signature tune, “Highway to Hell.”
