Rascal Flatts Cancel Tour Dates Again
Rascal Flatts announced the cancellation of three upcoming shows from their “Rewind Tour” on Wednesday.
The band said a combination of their busy tour schedule and a number of media days in New York City led to “unforeseen illnesses” affecting lead singer Gary LeVox.
This is the second time the band has cancelled concerts this summer due to issues with LeVox’s voice. The first time was an Oklahoma City July 10 stop where LeVox’s ill vocal chords were also cited as the cause for cancellation.
“It is incredibly difficult to make the decision to cancel shows and disappoint our loyal fans who have been so good to us over the years,” bass guitarist, keyboardist and backing vocalist Jay DeMarcus said in a statement yesterday. “The schedule of shows this past weekend, coupled with media days in New York City, have left him without a voice. We promise to return as soon as we can and give our fans the best show possible!”
The “Payback” singers stopped by FOX411’s studios on Tuesday, and LeVox’s voice appeared to be in order.
“Usually we’re only working weekends,” DeMarcus told FOX411 of how they balance their work with family life. “That’s what we’ve tried to do for ourselves but it doesn’t always work out as good as you want it to.”
