Jake Bugg Announces Liverpool Show
Singer Jake Bugg has announced a gig at the Echo arena in Liverpool as part of his latest tour.
Following up from his Glastonbury and Reading/Leeds festivals appearances this summer, Jake will play the arena venue on Saturday October 18.
He’s played a range of Liverpool gigs over the years, from Sound City and the 02 Academy to a tiny fanclub gig at The Cavern earlier this year.
He’s been making music since he was just 12 years old.
“For the first few years I was just learning covers, seeing what chords went with others and how songs went together, then I started writing myself,” Jake said. “Some of it was good, some of it was shocking.
“My mum was always listening to Take That or something that I hated. People seem to think I’m a massive Bob Dylan fan, but I’ve not really listened to him that much, and my parents never did. I know his first album, and the famous tracks, like Subterranean Homesick Blues, but not much. It’s a strange comparison.”
Jake picked up the Best New Act Award at the prestigious Q Awards in 2013, and has been nominated for an array of other awards, including two Brit Awards in consecutive years. His debut album has sold over one million copies worldwide, with the follow up Shangri La was produced by the legendary Rick Rubin at his studios in Malibu.
Jake Bugg plays the Echo arena Two on Saturday October 18 2014. Tickets are onsale this Friday (May 16) at 9am, call the Echo ticketline on 0844 800 3680.
