Motorhead Singer Lemmy Has Pacemaker Fitted
Hellraising rocker Lemmy has had a pacemaker fitted after a warning from doctors. Lemmy’s treatment was revealed by bandmate Phil Campbell, 52.
He said the Motorhead wild man was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat after decades of hard living. Doctors told Lemmy, 67, to get the pacemaker if he wanted to tour again.
Campbell said a planned tour postponed because of Lemmy’s illness – he also suffers from diabetes – would go ahead next year. He told WalesOnline : “His ticker’s fine now and he’s made sufficient changes to his lifestyle and diet in order to combat the diabetes.” “He’s like the John Wayne of rock, always soldiering on.”
Lemmy – who boasted “I don’t want to live forever” in hit Ace of Spades – said: “When I go I want to go doing what I do best.”
